50 - Happy Christmas 2019

Dear friends and supporters of the work undertaken by the Olive Branch Foundation,

Having said that it is our work, it is more than that, it is your work also; but above all, it is God’s work. He is the one who causes the hard hearts to take on a softer nature and prompts us to cheerful giving.

So firstly, I give thanks to Him then thanks to you for responding to the prompting.

Nothing goes unnoticed and every expression of your love towards these children is never overlooked, but is recorded by Him.

A great biblical passage springs to mind for our encouragement. Allow me to quote it below. This is from 2nd Corinthians Ch 9 v 6-8 taken from the NKJ version:

  • 2 Co 9:6 But this I say: He who sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and he who sows bountifully will also reap bountifully.

  • 2 Co 9:7 So let each one give as he purposes in his heart, not grudgingly or of necessity; for God loves a cheerful giver.

  • 2 Co 9:8 And God is able to make all grace abound toward you, that you, always having all sufficiency in all things, may have an abundance for every good work.

That tells me we should never be afraid to give but give with enthusiasm, as we understand that the source of all things is from on high.

I thank God for every cheerful heart that He has made and look forward to giving thanks to Him for you in the coming year.

Thank you so very much. May you all have the best Christmas season you are able to have under the many and varied circumstances you find yourselves in.

Most faithfully yours,

Chris Hirst
